About Anne

I have been working as an herbalist for over 20 years. When I think about my path I remember the meadow behind my Grandmother’s house in Cape Breton. I had a book from the Glace Bay library, and I was learning about herbs. Yarrow, St. John’s Wort, Queen Anne’s Lace, and many others. How to identify each plant. How they heal. I am blessed that my work and my calling are one and the same. Avalon Herbal Clinic is my home base.
In 2003 I decided to formalize my studies as an herbalist and took the opportunity to enroll at the Living Earth School of Herbalism. The 3-year program deepened my knowledge and confirmed for me that this is what I am meant to be an herbalist. After graduating in 2006 I moved to the Ottawa Valley and started my practice with the Avalon Herbal Clinic. I am a professional member of the Ontario Herbalists Association. I continue to develop my expertise by engaging with books, lectures, workshops, conferences, and most importantly – with the plants themselves.
In addition to the work I do one on one with clients I also lead plant walks, give lectures, and teach workshops to empower people to incorporate herbs into their lives.
